Jack-O-Lantern

This photo is a close-up of a light, anti-jack-o-lantern. I say that because it is the inside that should be lit, with the outside black, but this turns the tables quite violently. The pumpkin looms over the viewer with its low angular take, and its laughing face seems quite menacing. The jack-o-lantern is surrounded by darness which could be night or some evil spell the lantern has cast. This adds to the tension as all the viewer sees is the laughing pumpkin, and it hightens the fear.

Hi David....

Composition: A picture of a glowing pumpkin. Likely not a real pumpkin, because of how it sparkles. Main focus is the pumpkin, because the rest of the picture is in shadows.

Angle: Low angle, giving the viewer the impression that the pumpkin is huge. Gives an intimidating effect, because the pumpkin seems larger than life.

Distance: Close up, adds on to the effect that the pumpkin is larger than life. Continues the intimdating effect.

Light/Shadow: Big contrast between main focus and background. The entire pumkin is lit, while the entire background is shadow. This leads the viewer to look into the eyes of the pumpkin, because they contrast the orange glow.

Ummm, David... I'm pretty sure that for this picture you just thought of something random to take a picture of and put it up on the site as quickly as possible.
Nice work.
But as far as anaylis goes I would say that this close-up shot of the pumpkin lets us see the true expression on it's face: evil joy. It's clearly an evil pumpkin that wants to eat my soul, and I can see this from the way that the background is all in shadow, drawing attention to the bright orange object in the middle. Well done David, well done.
